SOHO: A historic past unrecognized

Even in a growing and prosperous city, one can sometimes find forgotten and ghost-town like places within. Such as the case in London, Ontario.

After, more than 138 years of treating patients at the South Street Hospital, located on South Street and Colborne Street in London Ontario, the hospital closed its door in 2013. The SOHO neighbourhood has more than 150 years of history, however, most of the buildings in this area have been demolished or left empty for a couple of years. This neighbourhood used to be vibrant and full of life. It was a community that once was a place of refuge on the Underground Railroad, and with a medical facility that was located along the edges of the downtown and the Thames River.
